I'm Joseph. Based in York, I am a friendly, patient and dedicated tutor with a First Class Masters degree in Physics from the University of York. I will always be prepared, conscientious and focused on helping you succeed in your goals.

I provide tuition for Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level, with extensive experience -and success- at all these levels

My knowledge of each exam board is thorough, so the student will always be prepared for their individual exams.

I can travel to your home or we can do it at my house. I'm flexible with timing - weekday/weekend & daytime/evening

APPROACH and outlook

Patience, empathy and understanding of the individual's needs are at the core of my teaching method. Progress is recorded after each session and future sessions are planned accordingly. Each student will vary on what they need to focus on and in what proportions - background theory, preliminary questions or past papers. Sometimes a topic will have to be approached from different angles to bring about understanding and I believe my patience and creativity in this area help.

My knowledge of each maths syllabus (at each maths level/with different exam boards) is thorough, but beyond this, I also feel it is vital to understand the exam process - where marks are given in exams and what the examiner likes to see. I always try, where possible, to give the student clear step-by-step techniques to approach questions that can be repeated in the high-pressure atmosphere of exams.
